After an injury ridden year Mr. Daniel Wright is making a comeback.
This young shooting guard is “putting in much work”.
He is deceptively quick and has great instincts with the ball.
Strengths:
Daniel is plain and simple a scorer. He can “fill it up”!!!
Having watched him play some older competition I was surprised by his poise.
He was being terrorized by a player 30 lbs heavier (muscle mass) and 5 years older.
He was being dumped ,clothes-lined and grabbed, but continued to score almost at will on his opponent. He was just “hurting the brothers feelings”!!!
He rebounds his position well and understands movement on offense.
Weaknesses:
He plays defense with less energy that he plays offense.
At times it seems like he is watching the play instead of being a part of it.
He does not bump cutters or play good weak side defense making him at times a one-way player. He must also put more work into his ball handling, especially with regards to ball control with body contact.
Update:
Daniel has started to live up to the promise he showed before his injury, his vertical has increase and his shooting is more consistent. He now plays with passion on both ends and rebounds his area very well.
With continued effort Daniel may pay himself on to a prep team roster as early as this fall!!
